End of Township Oak Tree Pruning Moratorium

Ferguson Township places an annual moratorium on oak tree pruning from April 1st through October 31st. The goal of the moratorium is to prevent the spread of oak wilt, a fungal disease that kills oak trees and is spread by beetles that are drawn to the fresh wounds in trees caused by pruning.

As November 1st marked the end of the oak tree pruning moratorium, Township Arborist Larry Maginnis and the Public Works Team have begun their oak pruning obligations on street trees around the Township.
