Suburban Park

Description:

A true gem of Ferguson Township's parks, the ten-acre Suburban Park is a great place to spend a sunny afternoon. While the park sits within walking distance from the shops on Atherton Street and Vairo Boulevard, you would never know that when you're playing a game of tennis, watching your kids enjoy the playground, or taking a bike ride along the path in Suburban Park. The park also includes a pavilion, youth ball field, and a basketball court.

Suburban Park Undergoing Improvements

Notice: Suburban Park is currently under construction and will remained closed to the public throughout the winter 2023-2024. 

The tennis courts, play area, and pavilion remain open; however, alternate parking is necessary as the on-lot parking area is closed to the public. The park can be accessed from Vairo Boulevard (to the north) and East Aaron Drive to the south of the park. Alternate parking locations can be found on Marjorie Mae Street off Vairo Boulevard or along East Aaron Drive to the south.

Work consists of removing the existing drainage culvert and relocating the stream to the south along with other stormwater upgrades, new concrete kiosk area at the existing parking lot with a kiosk and bike rack, asphalt perimeter path and connecting paths with a connection to the regional bike route, new pavilion with horseshoe pits, outdoor fitness exercise equipment, four (4) bridges, and perimeter plantings at the southern and eastern property lines.
