Louis E. Silvi Baseball Complex

Description:

The Louis E. Silvi Baseball Complex is conveniently located just off West College Avenue close to the border of Ferguson Township and State College Borough. The field has been home to the State College Area Teener League for many years. The Township has partnered with the State College Area Teener League and has allowed the League to use the field in exchange for maintenance of the park. The relationship has created one of the most pristine and well-maintained hardball fields in the Centre Region. Each year, hundreds of kids enjoy exhibition and tournament games at the Louis E. Silvi Baseball Complex.

The Township Board of Supervisors has adopted a Field Utilization Policy & Application for groups who are interested in hosting tournaments or exhibitions at the field. The scheduling period to submit applications runs through January 31st of each year. A fee for usage of the field to cover the cost of maintenance, utilities, and staffing may apply.

In 2014, Ferguson Township engaged Dan Jones, FASLA and Professor Emeritus of Landscape Architecture at Penn State, to compile a Master Plan for the future of the park. View the Master Plan for the Louis E. Silvi Baseball Complex. The first phases of the park's development include the construction of field lighting and fence modifications to bring the field into compliance with standards of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). It is hoped that the improvements will make the field an even more special place to watch youth baseball for generations to come!
