Trick or Treat Safety Tips

Trick or Treat will take place in Ferguson Township on Monday, October 31st from 6-8pm.

Our police officers will be out patrolling neighborhoods on Trick or Treat night to make sure everyone has a fun and safe evening.

Here are some tips to make sure your kids have a safe time:

1. Stick to familiar neighborhoods and well-lit streets and houses.
2. Wear bright clothing or reflective tape on your outfit and carry a flashlight.
3. Use non-toxic face paint rather than masks to improve visibility.
4. Never go into a stranger's house or car.
5. Parents should accompany young children.
6. Older kids should stay in groups. Set a meeting point and pick up time.
7. Wait to eat your candy until you get home and your parents inspect it first.
8. Avoid homemade treats - packaged/sealed ones are safest.
