Trick-or-Treat Safety in Ferguson Township

Trick-or-Treat

Trick-or-Treat in Ferguson Township will take place on Sunday, October 31 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. The Ferguson Township Police Department would like to remind residents of basic safety tips to ensure the well-being of all those out trick-or-treating.

Any young children out trick-or-treating should ALWAYS be accompanied by a responsible adult. If your children are older and want to go out by themselves, review their trick-or-treating route beforehand and agree on a time they should return home. Children should also wear reflective markings or carry a flashlight. To help with visibility, Ferguson Township officers will be handing out glow bracelets to trick-or-treaters. Make sure your children know to never enter a stranger's home or car, looking both ways when crossing the street and avoid getting distracted by electronic devices.

Parents should always check candy before letting children eat it and be cautious with homemade treats made by strangers.

Drivers, be extremely careful and alert during trick-or-treat hours. Exit out of driveways carefully and always check your surroundings. When it is dark out, be extra vigilant to notice any trick-or-treaters that may be in dark clothing.

Happy Halloween!
