School Zone Safety Reminder

The Ferguson Township Police Department would like to remind drivers of the importance of adhering to school zone speed limits and precautions around local schools.

Flashing lights near school zones indicate reduced speed limits, and even without flashing lights, drivers should be aware of the the potential safety concerns around schools, with pedestrians crossing the street and children playing nearby. Please slow down and pay attention to crossing guards.

Proceed with extra caution during school pick-up and drop-off times in designated school zones.

As a further reminder, traffic violations in school zones come with increased fines and a possible driver's license suspension.
