Hunting Safety

With tomorrow, Saturday, November 26, marking the first day of deer season, the Ferguson Township Police Department would like to send out a reminder to encourage safe hunting.

  • Wear hunter orange to be seen by other hunters.
  • Hunt in familiar areas or with a compass or gps in case you get lost in new territory.
  • Tell someone where you plan to be.
  • Wear a harness when using a tree stand.
  • Keep the safety on until ready to shoot.
  • Make sure you follow PA state laws and hunting regulations and carry a valid license.
