Bear sightings reported in the Township; please respond with caution

Ferguson Township Police have received a few calls about hungry bears in The Landings and Chestnut Ridge neighborhoods.
Hungry bears feed on bird seed, suet, hummingbird nectar, food scraps and pet food. If you have spotted a bear in your neighborhood, the Pennsylvania Game Commission recommends bringing your feeders in at night, securing your trash cans, and keeping your grills and yards clean.
The Game Commission asks residents in neighborhoods where bears have been spotted to remove all sources of food from yards.
