Where Are Political Signs Permitted in the Township?

The 2023 Municipal Primary Election is coming up on May 16. Leading up to election day, residents are reminded that, under Ferguson Township's Sign & Billboard Ordinance, Political Signs are considered "personal expression signs" which are permitted in the Township and do not require a sign permit.

However, please note that:

  1. Residential lots may have up to three temporary signs in the yard.
  2. Personal expression signs are only allowed in your yard; they are not permitted to be placed in the Township's Right of Way.

The Right of Way is the area between the sidewalk and the street. In areas with no sidewalk, the Right of Way is typically the area between the utility poles and the street.

For questions regarding signs, please contact the Township’s Ordinance Officer at (814) 238-4651.
