Registration

The owner of any dog that has reached three months of age or older must obtain a dog license on or before January 1 of each year. Dog licenses may be obtained through the Centre County Treasurer’s Office at 420 Holmes Street in the Willowbank Building, Bellefonte, PA 16823.

Leash Laws

In all municipal park areas, except inside the Tudek Dog Park, pets must be on a leash of no longer than six (6) feet in length.

Running At-Large

Dogs, cats or other pets on property of another person other than the owner are required to be accompanied by a person and under their control, otherwise, the animal is defined as running at-large.

Seizing of Dogs, Cats, and Other Pets

In Ferguson Township, it is unlawful for the owner of any dog, cat or other pet to permit the animal to run at-large. Owners whose pet is seized shall be subject to a fine, as well as fees, for keeping the animal in a kennel.
