New Refuse and Recycling Contract for 2025-2030
The Centre Region Council of Government (Centre Region COG) General Forum formally awarded the 2025 – 2030 Residential Curbside Refuse and Recycling contract to Burgmeier’s Hauling, Inc. of Altoona. The contract begins April 1, 2025 and runs through March 31, 2030. The Centre Region COG contract covers residential curbside collection in Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris, and Patton Townships. Clean Fill Drop Off
- The Glenn O. Hawbaker Recycle Center at 110 Hawbaker Industrial Drive accepts rock, stumps and yard waste for a fee.
Compost, Mulch, Wood Chips
- Ferguson Township residents may purchase compost, mulch and wood chips at the Glenn O. Hawbaker Recycle Center at 110 Hawbaker Industrial Drive.
Grass Clippings Drop Off
- Ferguson Township residents may drop off grass clippings at the Township Municipal Building located at 3147 Research Drive, State College from dawn to dusk seven days a week. Look for the sign directing you to the grass clippings area. Alternatively, you may also drop off grass clippings at the Glenn O. Hawbaker Recycle Center at 110 Hawbaker Industrial Drive.
