Can I operate a Short Term Rental in Ferguson Township?

Yes. Short Term Rentals are permitted in Ferguson Township and property owners must obtain a permit to operate a Short Term Rental. Please contact the Zoning Administrator in the Planning and Zoning Department at (814) 238-4651 to obtain a permit.

  • The dwelling must be the permanent address of the property owner and/or leasee and the owner and/or leasee must occupy the dwelling for at least six (6) months of the calendar year.
  • Short Term Rentals are subject to enforcement of the Township’s noise, nuisance and property maintenance-related ordinances.
  • The Short Term Rental must provide one off-street parking space per bedroom available for rental.

This FAQ does not replace the adopted Zoning Ordinance or Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance, but merely addresses commonly asked questions. If the information contained in this FAQ contradicts or is inconsistent with the ordinance, the Zoning Ordinance or Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance shall prevail.
