Township Leadership Attends 2023 Sustainable PA Conference

Board of Supervisors Chair Lisa Strickland, Supervisor Jeremie Thompson, and Township Manager Centrice Martin attended the annual Sustainable PA Conference in Gettysburg on November 1-3, 2023.

This conference allows municipal leaders to share success stories, best practices and network with other professionals committed to sustainability in local government.

sustainable pa 2023This annual conference is organized by the Pennsylvania Municipal League, of which Manager Martin is the Second Vice President and Chair Strickland serves on the Conference Planning Committee.

The focus of this year's conference was on the promotion of sustainable practices in Pennsylvania and exploring ways to reach local community energy emissions reduction goals.

Ferguson Township is recognized as a Certified Gold Community by Sustainable Pennsylvania. The Sustainable Pennsylvania Community Certification, a project of the Pennsylvania Municipal League and Sustainable Pittsburgh, is a voluntary performance recognition program designed to help municipalities achieve sustainability goals, which in turn will allow them to save money, conserve resources, and encourage innovation.
