Microsurfacing Begins on Whitehall Road in Ferguson Township; Will Be Completed in Two Phases

State College, PA – On June 13, 2022, road work related to microsurfacing began on Whitehall Road in Ferguson Township. Microsurfacing has begun on Whitehall Road in Ferguson Township from Tadpole Road to Emory Lane. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in the area from 7am-7pm daily. Traffic will be permitted in both directions with delays. Motorists are suggested to seek alternate routes if possible. Motorists should expect delays. Message boards erected near the construction zones will inform motorists and cyclists of the construction ahead.

After normal work hours the travel restrictions are lifted. Work will continue for the remainder of the week. Microsurfacing work will be suspended from June 20-24 on Whitehall Road.

Work is scheduled to be completed in two phases, with the first phase beginning during the week of June 13, 2022, and the second phase beginning the week of June 27, 2022. Each phase is expected to four to five days to complete. During this time, no pavement markings will appear on the roadways as microsurfacing takes place. This schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.

Along Whitehall Road, the first segment to be completed will be Tadpole Road to Emory Lane, second with Emory Lane to Nixon Road, and lastly, Nixon Road to College Avenue. Ferguson Township has experience microsurfacing township roads for over 30 years, and will continue to provide updates and safety measures in and around the construction zone.
