2023 Employee Wellness Fair

Most employees spend one-third of their day at their workplace. A wellness fair is a great way to promote wellness initiatives, provide health education, resources, conduct preventative screenings and immunizations, demonstrate healthy habits and promote organizational benefits and resources.

The Wellness Committee was excited to bring back the Ferguson Township Wellness Fair. This year’s event included some popular vendors from previous years along with some new activities and resources. As a Bike Friendly Business Bronze level award winner, it was important to bring in Blacklist Bikes for bike repair and E-bike demonstrations. This granted opportunities for employees to learn how to maintain their own bikes and increase their biking opportunities. Sgt. Hendricks spoke on bike riding safety and handed out bike lights to participants.

Brian Irwin from ConnectCare 3, a health and wellness service provided through Township employees benefits plan, shared with employees the free resources already available to them and how to access the services. For those looking for more in-depth nutritional services, Monica Montag, a Nutritionist from BeWell Associates, was available to employees.

Nurses from CPI were onsite to provide blood pressure, heartrate and oxygen level readings. Annual flu shots were provided to those that wanted one. The employee favorite, chair massages, were also available to employees. New this year to the wellness fair were puzzles and various games for mental relaxation or stimulation, employee’s choice.

The Wellness Committee has received positive feedback from employees and looks forward to planning a wellness fair for 2024.
