May 2024 Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Proclamation

At the Board of Supervisors Special Meeting held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, a proclamation was passed to recognize Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

In 1992, Congress designated the month of May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the United States to celebrate the significant contributions of people of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage to the growth, history, culture, and achievements of our nation.

The Ferguson Township appreciates residents who themselves, or their families hail originally from the many diverse countries on the Asian continent and the Pacific Islands — some being recent immigrants, while others are first, second, third, fourth, or fifth generation American.

People of Asian and Pacific Islander origin are our beloved friends and family, our cherished neighbors, and valued members of the Township of Ferguson, where we remain committed to embracing and accepting all our residents from diverse backgrounds.

The Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim, May 2024, to be Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in the Township of Ferguson and encourages all residents to celebrate the history and culture of Asian Pacific Islanders and Asian Pacific Americans and their vital contributions to our community.
