At the February 6, 2024, regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors, the Board issued a proclamation declaring February to be Black History Month.

Black History Month occurs every year in February, the theme for 2024 being "African Americans and the Arts." This month-long celebration recognizes the struggles and celebrates the achievements of Black Americans throughout history.

The Township would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Leslie Laing, Director of Adult Learner Programs & Services at Penn State University and Ferguson Township's appointed representative on the C-NET Board of Directors, along with Mr. Pheolyn Allen and Ms. Kesla Elmore, both Phd candidates at Penn State University, who attended the meeting and spoke on behalf of the African American community to share the history and importance of Black History Month.
