Township Seeks Out Funding Opportunities for Improvement Projects

Park Hills Drainageway Project

In 2021, Ferguson Township staff secured a grant of $200,000 from the National Fish and Wildlife Fund to put towards the Park Hills Drainageway Improvements Project. The project’s goals are to maintain stormwater on Township property or within easements, to eliminate erosion and sediment deposits in the drainage way, to coordinate improvements with utilities in the drainage way, and to preserve as many existing trees as possible within the project limit.

It is an ongoing effort of Township staff to seek out additional funding for projects that preserve natural resources and improve life in our community. As such, at the Board of Supervisors meeting on January 17, 2023, the Board adopted a resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application for the Susquehanna River Basin Commission Consumptive Use Mitigation Grant. If granted, these funds will help the Township to further offset costs for the Park Hills Drainageway Project.
