Reminder: Trash/Recycling Will NOT Be Collected on Memorial Day 2022

As a reminder to residents for Memorial Day, per Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority:

1. There will be NO COLLECTION of trash, or recycling, on Monday, May 30 in observance of Memorial Day. Collection will be delayed one day all week, with Friday's collection occurring on Saturday.

2. Collection of both trash and recycling will begin at 6 a.m. from the Tuesday following Memorial Day to the Friday before Labor Day (May 31 - September 2).

This pilot program aims to provide better safety through the summer months for collection workers. By starting an hour earlier, collection workers will be able to take more frequent breaks to stay hydrated and rest from the heat, and to end collection before the hottest part of the day. COG will carefully evaluate this pilot, so your feedback is welcomed.
