Proclamation of Workers' Memorial Day - April 28, 2023

At the regular meeting of the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors on March 21, 2023, the Board adopted a proclamation designating April 28, 2023, as Workers' Memorial Day.

Workers' Memorial Day is observed annually on April 28, the day that the Occupational Safety and Health Act went into effect. On this day, we remember those who have lost their lives while on the job and recognize those who continue to sacrifice their own safety and well-being for the needs of others.

The president of Seven Mountains Central Labor Council, Mr. Connor Lewis, spoke in support of the Proclamation. Mr. Lewis drew attention to this year's theme, which is "Remember the dead - Fight for the living," and asked that we take a moment to remember those that have lost their lives on the job.
