Political Signs in the Right-of-Way

Voting in the Township

November is around the corner and with that local Municipal Elections! Residents will soon be displaying signs on their properties supporting their favorite candidate.

Under the Ferguson Township's Sign & Billboard Ordinance, Political Signs are considered "personal expression signs" which are permitted in the Township and don’t require a sign permit. Residential lots may have up to three temporary signs in the yard.

Signs are prohibited in the Township's Right-of-Way, the area between the sidewalk and street. Alternatively, if there is no sidewalk, it is typically the area between the utility poles and the street.

If you have any questions, please contact the Township’s Ordinance Officer at (814) 238-4651.
