Philosophy of Hope II Recognized by Telly Awards

Concert event benefitting Jana Marie Foundation wins bronze award at 2021 Tellys
Philosophy of Hope

The video concert Philosophy of Hope II that was shown last fall as a benefit for Jana Marie Foundation recently won a Bronze Award at this year’s Telly Awards.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in local, regional, and cable television productions. This year’s awards received more than 12,000 entries that came from all 50 states and five continents.

Philosophy of Hope II, written by Ken Baxter, produced by Judson Mantz, and stage managed by Amber Dawn Hohman, won a bronze award in the Online General Charitable category.

Because of COVID, the concert event wasn’t able to happen in front of a live audience. Shot at Pine Grove Hall in Pine Grove Mills and shown on October 10, 2020, on Facebook Live where people could watch and donate, Baxter performed new music and was accompanied by Liz Grove, Steve Christensen, and other friends. The video featured recorded performances interspersed with video clips from the 2019 concert and additional creative works. The theme for the event was Relationships and Resilience.

The event raised more than $21,000 for Jana Marie Foundation.

“This is a great moment for Jana Marie Foundation and a great honor for all the incredibly talented people who made this happen,” says Al Vicere, Vice President of Jana Marie Foundation.

The creative team is planning on Philosophy of Hope III, scheduled to be performed live at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 23 at the State Theatre. You can still watch last year’s award-winning concert video on YouTube.
