New Changes to Parking on Butz Street

Motorists on Butz Street should be aware of new parking restrictions. These changes are an effort to ease traffic congestion and make the street safer. The new regulations, which have already gone into effect, limit where and how long cars can be parked along the section of Butz Street between Calder Way and Grass Alley.

Following a request from local residents, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Township Engineer to complete a parking study of the area in December 2021. The study took largely into consideration how the addition of new student housing along the street was going to affect traffic and parking.

The study was completed in December 2022, and on January 3, 2023, the draft study, drawings, and proposed changes to the parking ordinance were presented to the Board of Supervisors at their regular meeting. As a result, the Board approved a public hearing for January 17, 2023, at which, the ordinance was adopted.
