May 2023 Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Proclamation

At the Board of Supervisors regular meeting held on May 15, 2023, the Board issued a proclamation recognizing the month of May 2023 as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
Ferguson Township residents Sandy Fong and Grace Chang were in attendance to represent the PanAPIDA (Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) Circle which was founded in 2021.
State College Borough council woman Nalini Krishnankutty spoke on behalf of the community to bring awareness to the fact that, according to the 2020 Census, there are more than 11,000 APIDA residents in Centre County, making up about 6% of the population. APIDA residents make up about 16% of Ferguson Township's population.
