Green Infrastructure Policy Adopted By Resolution

Green Infrastructure

During their regular meeting, the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors adopted the Green Infrastructure Policy by resolution. The focus of this policy is to establish a framework that defines the different types of natural areas for green features and identifies levels of maintenance standards for service to be associated within the park system.

The Township continually receives requests by residents, staff and the Board to convert passive areas within parks such as Cecil Irvin Park, Fairbrook Park, Tudek Park and Haymarket Park into green infrastructure areas. Before adoption of the policy, responses to these requests have varied based on the nature of the situation. The Green Infrastructure Policy establishes a procedure on how to process these requests and how to better maintain the condition and safety of the naturalized environments within Township Parks.
