Ferguson Township Leadership Retreat

Ferguson Township staff came together on February 28, 2023 for a full-day Leadership Retreat facilitated by GovHR. Ferguson Township's Manager, Centrice Martin, organized the event in an effort to improve internal operations, which is one of her key priorities, and which is also an item outlined in the Township's 2017 Strategic Plan.

Ms. Martin's collaborative approach brought staff together for a day of teambuilding, discussion, and strategizing. Staff worked together to identify and find solutions to ensure employee well-being, optimal use of resources, better organization, and overall efficiency.

Many thanks to Charlene Stevens with GovHR who facilitated the event, Penn State Soccer Coach Jeff Cook who spoke about teamwork and handling pressure, Michael Landy with HammerTECH who gave an overview of the Township's IT assessment, and Assistant Township Manager Jaymes Progar for creating and hosting a heated game of Ferguson Township Jeopardy.

Ms. Martin was appointed Township Manager by the Board of Supervisors on April 19, 2022. In the fall of 2022, GovHR was asked to conduct an organizational assessment of the Township and HammerTECH conducted an IT strategic vulnerability assessment. These assessments and the final reports provided a roadmap for how to move forward. The final reports included recommendations on increasing effectiveness and efficiency, creating succession planning, and integrating diversity and inclusion.
