Ferguson Police Participate in 2023 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

On May 18, 2023, representatives from the Ferguson Township Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies participated in the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Pennsylvania. Runners carried the torch along North Atherton Street in State College to the Nittany Lion Shrine at Penn State University.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics Pennsylvania unites officers from law enforcement agencies and corrections departments across the state in a year-round effort to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics movement.

The Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1981 when Wichita, Kansas Police Chief Richard LaMunyon saw an urgent need to raise funds for and increase awareness of Special Olympics.

The Special Olympics Summer Games 2023 will take place June 8th - 10th Penn State University. For more information, visit https://specialolympicspa.org/
