State College, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the State College Borough Department of Public Works are alerting motorists that a closure of West Park Avenue is set to begin at 7:00 AM Monday, March 9. The closure is necessary to complete pipe replacement work.

West Park Avenue will be closed to local and commercial traffic between North Atherton and North Allen Streets. It will also be closed to commercial vehicle traffic between North Allen Street and Shortlidge Road. Residents of the College Heights neighborhood will be able to access their homes via North Allen Street.

The closure is expected to be in place through 7:00 PM Friday, March 13. The road will be opened sooner if work progress allows. All work is weather and schedule dependent.

This project is a partnership effort between PennDOT and State College Borough. PennDOT will provide traffic control and the replacement piping. PennDOT will also perform backfilling and paving once the repairs are complete. All other work will be done by the State College Borough Department of Public Works.
