The Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority (CCRRA) announced via their Summer Newsletter changes to recycling and refuse collection in the Centre Region for the following holidays:

"The following applies to residents living in the Townships of Benner, College, Ferguson, Harris & Patton.

July 4: Independence Day - Recycling collection will be delayed one day from Monday. Monday’s recycling will be
collected on Tuesday and so on throughout the week
.

September 5: Labor Day - Recycling collection will be delayed one day from Monday. Monday’s recycling will be
collected on Tuesday and so on throughout the week.
"

Make a note on your calendar for the upcoming change next week! And be sure to check out our guidelines for refuse and recycling waste here.

As a reminder, the CRCOG initiated a pilot program for refuse and recyling collection to start at 6:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day of this year. The intent of the pilot program is to assess the impact, or success, of the change and to more fully understand the benefits and any issues that arise, before permanent changes are considered.

Ferguson Township has created a comment form for residents to provide their thoughts and feedback on the pilot program this year. We welcome and appreciate your feedback.
