2023 Municipal Leadership Summit

Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors Chair Lisa Strickland and Manager Centrice Martin, along with municipal officials from the Pennsylvania Municipal League, the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners, and the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chiefs Association, convened for the Municipal Leadership Summit in Bethlehem, PA on October 5-8. The event provided professional development and best practice sharing opportunities in addition to numerous educational sessions and the opportunity to hear from prominent speakers.

The Summit was attended by elected and appointed municipal officials, including: mayors, council members, commissioners, supervisors, administrators, managers, city clerks, fire chiefs and department heads. The event, with the theme of “Connect; Learn; Engage” also provided a platform for networking, award presentations, helping to build a community playground, policy development and election of association officers.

At the League Annual Business Meeting on October 7, 2023, Manager Martin was appointed and sworn in as the League's Second Vice President. This new role for Manager Martin brings Ferguson Township greater access to resources for good governance.

Chair Strickland and Manager Martin also participated as panelists in the Managers and Elected Officials Working Together to Improve Your Community session designed to educate, engage, and enhance skills to better govern, serve, and advocate for Ferguson Township and municipalities across Pennsylvania.
