Bike Paths and Parking Lots to Close Temporarily for Sealcoating

This week, Ferguson Township and State College Borough will temporarily close bike paths and parking lots to perform sealcoat maintenance activities. The paths and lots will be posted prior to the closure. CriLon Corp is the contractor.

Sealcoating on the bike paths began on Monday, August 5, starting with the long Blue Course Drive path and will move to Foxpointe Drive and so on. 

CriLon's intent is to sealcoat all bike paths Monday and Tuesday and begin sealcoating parking lots on Wednesday. Parking lots will be striped on Thursday, at which time all the work will be complete. The Sunset Park and Holmes-Foster Park parking lots will be open for parking by 7 am on Thursday.

Each section of path and parking lot will be closed for 24 – 48 hours to allow for two applications of sealcoat and curing before use.

Sealcoating will not be performed in wet conditions and the work is weather dependent.  Ferguson Township will post updates on the schedule as they become available.  

  • Blue Course Path – Circleville Road to Bristol Avenue 
  • Orchard Park/Stonebridge Path – Grace Street to Shellers Bend
  • Orchard Park Path – Edgewood Circle to Westerly Parkway
  • Tudek Circleville Path – Hillcrest Avenue Extension to Park Avenue
  • Foxpointe Path – Pine Hall Road to Prairie Lane
