May 17 to May 23, 2020 is officially National Public Works Week. This national week exists to celebrate the men and women across the country who provide and maintain our infrastructure. The services our Public Works crew provide are essential to keep our community running. Here in the Township, Public Works is responsible for Brush & Leaf Collection, capital improvements projects, fixing roads, & stormwater management.
The American Public Works Association (APWA) hosts this week every year. This year's theme is "The Rhythm of Public Works" and can be seen in the poster on the right-hand side of this article.
"This year's exciting poster challenges our members and their citizens to think about their communities as a symphony of essential services, working in concert to create a great place to live. Every community has a rhythm, a heartbeat that reflects its essence and tempo of life" -- APWA's website.
