Suspect in hit-and-run with bicyclist has been apprehended

Ferguson Township Police have apprehended D. Jacob Eshelman of New Enterprise, 19, in connection with the hit-and-run accident that caused injuries to a bicyclist on Monday, June 3.

Eshelman was driving the vehicle that struck Nancy Antes, 66, of Stormstown, on her bicycle in the 4400 block of Tadpole Road. She suffered broken bones in her ankle, leg, pelvis, ribs, and vertebrae and was admitted to Hershey Medical Center. 

Police have charged Eshelman with two felonies: aggravated assault by vehicle and accident involving death or personal injury, as well as multiple summary offenses.

Eshelman was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Casey McClain. Bail was set at $40,000. Eshelman was unable to post bail and was remanded to the Centre County Correctional Facility.
