Reminder: School Zone Safety in Ferguson Township

The Ferguson Township Police Department would like to remind drivers of the need to adhere to school zone speed limits and precautions around Ferguson Elementary School.
Flashing lights near school zones indicate reduced speed limits, and even without flashing lights, drivers should be aware of the the potential safety concerns around local schools. Please, for the safety of our families, slow down and pay attention to crossing guards and lookout for pedestrians as they attempt to cross the street safely.
As a further reminder, traffic violations in school zones come with increased fines and a possible driver's license suspenion - so be sure to maintain a proper speed limit in high-traffic areas.
