For Release: Vehicle on Skateboard Rider Crash at Foxpointe Drive and Autumnwood Drive in Ferguson Township

State College, PA – On June 15, 2022, at 6:17 a.m., Ferguson Township Officers were dispatched to South Foxpointe Drive and Autumnwood Drive for an injury accident involving a car and a skateboard rider.  A 2015 Subaru Outback was eastbound on South Foxpointe Drive approaching Autumnwood Drive.  As the vehicle entered the intersection, a man riding a skateboard crossed in front of the vehicle.  The car struck the skateboarder.  The skateboard rider, a 41-year-old State College man, sustained life-threatening injuries.  He was flown to UPMC Altoona by LifeFlight.  The driver of the Subaru was uninjured.

Preliminary information indicates that the skateboard rider did not stop for the posted stop sign before entering the intersection.  The crash is being investigated by members of the regional crash response team.  Officers from Patton Township and State College Borough are assisting with the investigation.  Alpha Fire Police and Centre Lifelink EMS assisted at the scene.
