Proposed Changes to the Township's Burn Ordinance

Ferguson Township has proposed changes to the Township's current burn ordinance. These changes include establishing a safety zone for open burns, smokers and recreational fires. The proposal states: "All open burns and smokers shall be at least 50 feet from adjacent property lines and recreational fires shall have a minimum of 20 feet from adjacent property lines. Additionally, open burn permits shall require the applicant to maintain a 30-foot clearing around the fire".

In addition, the proposed changes would prohibit burning leaves or leaf waste within Ferguson Township. 

The Board of Supervisors will review these changes during their regular meeting on March 15.
