Kaison Mitchell, 23-year-old male from Hanover, is now in jail after 2 counts of robbery of a motor vehicle and 1 count of criminal attempt, robbery of a motor vehicle.

On July 14, at approximately 5 PM, Mitchell flagged down a vehicle around the 500 block of Vairo Blvd. The defendant stated to the first victim that he did not know where he was. As the victim pulled away, the man pulled on the door handle and pounded on the window.

Shortly after, a second vehicle stopped on Vairo Blvd and attempted to turn onto Marjorie Mae Street. Mitchell approached the vehicle and told the occupant to get out of their car. He then reached inside to open the door and pulled her out of the vehicle and drove away with the vehicle. The man then crashed the stolen vehicle into two other vehicles at the intersection of N Atherton St and Vairo Blvd and then fled the scene on foot towards West Aaron Drive.

FTPD units responded to assist PTPD with the multiple vehicle crash. While in route, the Ferguson Township Police were diverted to the Uni Mart gas station on W Aaron Drive for a vehicle robbery that just occurred. Mitchell arrived at the gas station where a victim was pumping gas, attacked the victim, and drove off with the stolen victim's vehicle.

Mitchell was eventually caught after a pursuit involving PSP Rockview and State College PD.
