Ferguson Township Police Department Receives Certificate of Law Enforcement Accreditation

Accreditation Certificate

Every three years, the Ferguson Township Police Department renews its Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation. This Program was started in 2001 by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA) to help institutions evaluate and improve performance.

Ferguson Township Police Department Staff assessed current FTPD practices and compared them to the Program’s 136 standards. After this documentation was finalized, an outside consultant came in, reviewed the documentation and recommended FTPD for re-accreditation. Trained staff of the PCPA performed an on-site review of the Police Department. On August 4, the FTPD received their certificate of accreditation. The Police Department will be accredited until 2023.
