Ferguson Township Police Attend 2022 Centre County Memorial Ceremony

This was the first time the event was held in-person since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

On May 20, 2022, Ferguson Township Police attended the 2022 Centre County Memorial Ceremony held in Bellefonte, PA at the Centre County Courthouse. For the first time in two years, the event was held in-person and had been cancelled previously due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony is held every year to coincide with National Police Week, and the ceremony aims to honor police officers who were killed in the line of duty all across the United States the previous year. In 2021, 615 officers lost their lives on the job.

Chief Chris Albright attended the ceremony and read names of the aforementioned officers who were killed in the line of duty. Police departments from State College, University Park, Spring Township, Patton Township, Bellefonte Borough, Centre County Sheriffs, and also the Centre County FBI Field Office attended and spoke at the event.

Leader, Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and Michael Pipe, Chair, Centre County Commissioners. The National Anthem was performed by Keri Miller of the Borough of State College.
