Ferguson Township Cold Case Solved

FTPD

On January 21, 2016, Ferguson Township resident Jean Tuggy, 60, was found murdered in her residence.

Over the course of the five-year extensive investigation, the Ferguson Township Police Department's Detectives and Police Officers processed the crime scene, interviewed friends family, co-workers, acquaintances and conducted neighborhood canvases. The department analyzed physical evidence, electronic equipment and data.

In 2018, the case was re-examined by different detectives to give a new prospective on the case. Ferguson Township Detectives identified Tuggy’s former coworker, Christopher Kowalski, 35, as a potential suspect. As Detectives continued to follow the information it became evident that Kowalski was the perpetrator.

At this point the Ferguson Township Police Department brought in the PA Attorney General’s Office to assist in solidifying the case. Kowalski has been arrested and will be extradited to Pennsylvania for prosecution.

Our Police Department hopes that the arrest helps bring closure for Jean’s family and friends. The FTPD will continue to work on two unsolved missing person cases.
