Ferguson Township and Centre Region Planning Agency (CRPA) have been meeting with residents of Pine Grove Mills to develop a small area plan over the last 16 months. On November 4, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved and adopted the Pine Grove Mills Small Area Plan by resolution.
The Small Area Plan seeks to preserve the living heritage and values of the residents. At the November 4th hearing, a presentation was given to outline the improvements and development that will strengthen connectivity, community & safety in the historic village. The Plan expresses interest in improving parking in the Village for events, increasing signage and performing a complete street study. All routes for all modes of transportation are targeted to be improved, including a “blinking light” intersection, fixing sidewalks, adding crosswalks and bicycle connections to Scotia, Musser Gap, and into State College.
Tourism keeps communities thriving and the Plan touches on this. PGM’s history is well documented and needs a home where it is easily accessible and easy to collaborate with. A webpage is being considered to make all this information accessible to anyone who is interested.
All these improvements to the community come from within. Monthly meetings will be held at St. Paul Lutheran. Updates will be posted on our website and social media accounts. Come out and get involved in this historic project!
