Route 45 Getaways! builds on last year's success

Route 45 Getaways! aims to connect townships and boroughs along Route 45 in Centre County, from Pine Grove Mills in the West to Millheim Borough in the East, in order to showcase all the great restaurants, businesses, and fun along the famous state route.

The anchoring villages for 2022 were Millheim and Pine Grove Mills. Harris Township joined as a partner this year, helping to promote the many businesses and organizations in and around Boalsburg. 

This year's event featured over 30 destinations. In 2021, over 25 businesses and organizations participated. 

According to Township Manager Centrice Martin, "In moving the Route 45 Getaways initiative forward, through the municipal and community partnership, a goal of this weeklong event is to evolve it into a regional destination for residents and visitors to celebrate and explore outdoor recreation, arts, agriculture and local food. Route 45 Getaways engages small businesses in a way that strengthens connectivity and embraces activity-based experiences that bring people together for a shared sense of community"

Route 45 Getaways! is made possible through the partnership of Ferguson Township, Millheim Borough, Harris Township, Pine Grove Mills Small Area Plan Advisory Committee, and the many generous volunteers and sponsors.
