Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority Takes Pledge to Improve the Nation's Recycling System

Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority

Last month, the Centre County Recycling and Refuse Authority has pledged to work together with the EPA to increase educational outreach on recycling. Currently, recycling markets are poor and some municipalities either reducing the types of recyclables they collect or dropping their recycling programs altogether. Education and outreach to citizens is essential to keeping recycling rates low. Ferguson Township is dedicated to assist CCRRA in their recycling education efforts. We will continue to promote where and what residents can recycle. The pledge taken by CCRRA follows:

"My organization pledges to work together with EPA and the other America
Recycles Pledge signatories to build on our existing efforts to address the
challenges facing our nation's recycling system and to identify solutions that
create a more resilient materials economy and protect the environment. My
submission of this form indicates the interest and willingness of my
organization to participate in an ongoing dialogue to identify specific actions
that we can take collectively with EPA and the other signatories, and within
our respective organization, to improve the nation's recycling system."
