“Municipal Mixer” at Greenbriar-Saybrook Park!

On Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, Ferguson Township will host its first ever “Municipal Mixer” event at Greenbriar-Saybrook Park.

Ferguson Township invites residents to attend this event to help create a new vision for Greenbriar-Saybrook Park by providing feedback and comments at designated stations during the event. The community input provided will be utilized to update Ferguson Township’s Parks Master Plan, and specifically for Greenbriar-Saybrook Park.

In addition to offering an opportunity for public input on the future of Greenbriar-Saybrook Park, the event will place an emphasis on pedestrian and cycling safety. Ferguson Township Police will be on-site to host a cycling safety and training course for younger riders at the park. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to partake in these safety demonstrations and courses. All riders must wear a helmet while participating in these safety courses.

Representatives from Penn State Transportation Services will also be in attendance to highlight offerings such as the Penn State Bike Den, along with representatives from Penn State’s Spin e-Bike Share Program to inform attendees of these services and details of these programs. A bike mechanic from The Bicycle Shop will be present to overview bicycles for safety and maintenance, along with a bike registration station provided by the Penn State Bike Den.

Food trucks will also be on-site with prepared food and drinks available for attendees to purchase throughout the event.

The Ferguson Township Public Works Department will also feature a “Touch-A-Truck” portion of the event for younger attendees to participate in a hands-on experience of exploring a Ferguson Township Public Works vehicle.
