University Area Joint Authority Board of Directors

The Board of Supervisors appoints two members to the University Area Joint Authority (UAJA) Board of Directors. UAJA owns and operates an advanced wastewater treatment facility for the Centre Region. UAJA operates independently of the Ferguson Township Board of Supervisors, but there is a significant effort by UAJA to cooperate with municipalities on environmental and growth issues.

The UAJA Board of Directors sets the budget, approves all extensions of the sewer system, and sets all policies for billing, construction standards, planning, and more. The Board meets monthly.
