Conor Kelley"Working with Ferguson Township has been an honor and an amazing opportunity. I have learned so much about so many different realms of local government ranging from the administrative behind the scenes work, community communication, budgeting, ordinances, and so much more. I have also had the chance to explore my interests and to see the different levels of sustainability Ferguson Township is at and where we can better improve both in the short and long term." -- Conor Kelley, Administrative Assistant Intern

Meet Jenna Etter, a Penn State student majoring in Communications and working towards a certificate in Public Relations:

Jenna Etter"During my summer internship at Ferguson Township, I had the opportunity to learn more in-depth about local government and the surrounding community. I was given the chance to dive deep into my creative skills and produce my own ideas and work that helped expand my communication knowledge in a professional environment. Being able to establish multiple events for the Ferguson Township community allowed me to apply my current education with communication to real life scenarios through both creativity and critical thinking." -- Jenna Etter, Strategic Communications Intern

Meet Diana Deleon, a Penn State student majoring in Engineering:

Diana Deleon"Interning at Ferguson has given me the opportunity to see and understand how government works at a local level, and how the different departments come together to provide crucial services for the township. I was able to work with passionate individuals who were excited to share their knowledge in finance, engineering, GIS, communications, and administration. Because of this experience, I feel as though I have a broader understanding of how teams work together to deliver a final result, which I feel will help prepare me as a future engineer." -- Diana Deleon, Finance Intern

Meet Sasha Walls, a Penn State student majoring in Mechanical Engineering:

Sasha Walls"This internship gave me insight to all the responsibilities of the local government and gave me a higher appreciation for everything the Township does for its residents. I worked with a group of very passionate individuals that were working for the townships best interest. All summer, I was encouraged to share my ideas and thinking on the topics and learned skills that will help me in my future endeavors."  -- Sasha Walls, Community Engagement and Communication Assistant

Meet Savanah Barry, a Penn State Graduate (Spring 2020) with degrees in Public Relations and Communications:

Savannah Barry, Internship Coordinator"Before this experience I was not educated on all the services the Township provides and how all five departments work seemingly together to provide those services. I also learned how to work creatively on my own. I did not follow a syllabus and was challenged to create my own ideas. This helped me to develop independent work that I was confident about presenting." -- Savannah Barry, Internship Coordinator
