We were glad to be recognized for our commitment to preserving our agricultural heritage and our wide open spaces, to responsible development, and doing all we can to promote a sustainable community.

The Township's sustainable initiatives include:

Currently, the Centre Region offers the following Refuse, Recycling, Compost and Yard Waste services:

Clean Fill Drop Off

The Glenn O. Hawbaker Recycling Center/State College Borough Compost Facility accepts rock, stumps and yard waste for a fee.  The site is located at 2145 North Atherton Street in State College. Check its website for more information.

Grass Clippings Drop Off

Ferguson Township residents may drop off grass clippings at the Township municipal building located at 3147 Research Drive in State College. Look for the sign directing you to the grass clippings area.  You may drop off your grass clippings from dawn to dusk seven days a week.

Compost, Mulch, Wood Chips

Ferguson Township residents may purchase compost, mulch and wood chips at the State College Borough Recycling Facility at 2145 North Atherton Street.
