Ferguson Township has once again been recognized as one of the safest cities in Pennsylvania
—50th on the SafeWise 2015 Safest Cities in Pennsylvania Report.

The SafeWise Report, featured at a website dedicated to home security and safety advice, combines data from recent FBI Crime Reports with its own research to create a list of the 50 safest communities in Pennsylvania.

Reported violent crimes in the Township are .78 per 1,000, and property crimes are 6.85 per 1,000.

The report recognizes Ferguson Township as offering “plenty of open space, culture, and diversity. Plus, it’s protected by law enforcement officers who take courses like Crisis Intervention Training to help them better serve the public.”

“We are pleased to again be recognized as a safe community and appreciate SafeWise performing this independent assessment,” said Ferguson Township Chief of Police Diane Conrad. “We believe training on contemporary topics such as Crisis Intervention Training is necessary to meet community expectations of service delivery.”

“With all that Ferguson has going for it,” the SafeWise report concludes, “it’s no wonder it’s a popular place to live and work.”
