Township invites you to take survey on mobility in Northland area

Date: October 9, 2018

Ferguson Township, in coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA), and the Centre Regional Planning Agency, is conducting a transportation mobility study to identify potential improvements in the Northland Area that includes portions of North Atherton Street, Martin Street, Blue Course Drive, Clinton Avenue, Cherry Lane, and Aaron Drive. The study will identify potential improvements for walking, biking, driving and using transit within the study area. The study is expected to be completed in spring 2019 when the recommended potential improvements will be shared with the public.

The Township is seeking public comments on transportation mobility and safety issues and recommendations for improvements in the study area using an online survey.

You will see a Welcome Page where you'll enter your email address, and be taken to a map of the area. At left, you'll see a tab, "About and Help." Use the dropdown to click on instructions, or view them here:

  • Thank you for your interest in the Mobility Study. This map-based survey will help the Township see where and how mobility issues are impacting you and how we can improve things.

  • On the map, you can click on a location where you note an issue or have an idea.  There are four types of points or routes that you can add to the map:

  • 1. Pedestrian
    2. Bicyclist
    3. Personal Vehicle (Car, Taxi, Uber)
    4. Transit Bus (CATA)

  • Add one or many points or routes.  We are interested in all mobility or safety issues, whether on foot, bus, bike, or car.  After you place a point or route, you can add details about your concerns and ideas for fixing them.  You can also upload photos of the area to better tell your story.

  • To get started, fill in your email address and click “Continue to Map” OR click on “Go with Anonymous."

  • All users who enter concerns using your email address will be entered into a raffle for a $50 VISA prepaid card. The winner will be notified by email.

  • To map your thoughts, select from the "Start here to add a route" or “ Start here to add a point” menus in the top left and place a line or point within the outlined study area.

You can particpate in this study through October 17, 2018, by completing the survey at this link:

Instructions for completing the survey are all online. All survey participants will be entered to win a $50 VISA prepaid card.
