Increasing Livability and Greening the Urban Landscape – Dr. Marc McDill/Ms. Darlene Chivers 15 min
Dr. McDill and Ms. Chivers will provide comments on behalf of the FTTC regarding the value trees and vegetation can play in improving water quality goals, wildlife habitat, air quality and temperature, including planting tree-lined connected non-motorized transportation corridors and planting “no mow” vegetation and trees in storm water basins.

Tree Preservation Ordinance Introduction - Dr.  Howard Fescemyer 15 min
Dr. Fescemyer, Chairman of the Ferguson Township Tree Commission will provide an introduction and background information regarding a potential tree preservation ordinance in Ferguson Township.

Tree Preservation Ordinance Regulations and Examples-Dr. William Elmendorf 15 min
Dr. Elmendorf, Ibberson Endowed Chair of Urban and Community Forestry at Penn State University will provide insight on tree preservation ordinances in other municipalities in the Commonwealth. Dr. Elmendorf will also discuss legal aspects of such ordinances. 

Tree Canopy Survey-Dr. Marc McDill 10 min
Dr. McDill of the Ferguson Township Tree Commission will discuss the need for a Township tree canopy survey, the uses of such a survey, setting a tree canopy goal for Ferguson Township and how to achieve this goal.
